Regulatory body for virtual airlines
Mission
The World Aviation Virtual Association exists to provide the virtual aviation community with a common regulatory framework: consistent operational standards, a trustworthy register of member airlines, transparent event scoring and a permanent forum for cooperation between organisations. The Association does not operate flights; it establishes the rules under which its members do.
Organisational structure
The Association is composed of three permanent bodies. The Council is the deliberative organ, formed by delegates of member airlines, and approves regulations, admissions and sanctions. The General Secretariat is the executive body, responsible for the register, publications, sessions and the ranking. Working Groups are technical committees convened for operations, events and compliance matters.

Headquarters
The Association is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, a neutral territory that serves as a permanent meeting point for member representatives. The facility houses the Secretariat archives and the Council chamber.
History
WAVA was established in 2023 by a group of virtual airlines seeking a shared standard for operational reporting and event organisation. What began as an informal agreement between four organisations became a formal association with a written charter, a published body of regulations and a permanent secretariat. The Association has since expanded its register, formalised its ranking methodology and adopted a bilingual publication policy.
